Wow have we been busy we spent a lot of time in Carstairs, after the walkabout we spent time at Carstairs Family Auto with Shutterplay photography and took some pictures of families who showed up for that one day event. We had people from as far as calgary and a lot in between we had a great day,and loved every miniute of it.by
While on a stop over, we took a walk through the main street of Carstairs .We found the Photographer and an elf that are going to be taking the pictures at Family Auto Sales in Carstairs on November 28 2015 between 10 am and 6 pm. We took some promotional pictures with some of the residents of this quaint little community. We stopped briefly at the daycare and saw the children ,There is something magical about a child’s excitement when they meet Santa and Mrs Clause. We stopped by the chiropractor and Santa got a quick tuneup so he is ready for the big day. We checked out the local candy store and Santa had to sample the goodies (of course). We also stopped by the flower store where Mrs Clause was amazed at the colors and the fragrances. We stopped at the Co-op and met some staff and had pictures taken with them. Santa also showed up at the artisan store and met the owners and enjoyed browsing the isles. This community has a lot of talented people.by
Well what can we say but HO HO HO, What a fun evening. first off we went to Olds to a daycare, that wad 12 children that were mostly 4 years old. there was a lot of pictures taken, and gifts opened. The children had and parents had a fun time with Santa and Mrs Claus. Next we went to a family of 2 children, parents, and grandparents , the little girl didn’t want to be near Santa but again Mrs Clause was a hit and had to be the leason between her and Santa in the meantime Santa was getting his photo opps with mom and dad, grandma, and grandpa they loved it it was a laugh a minute. gifts were given and in the end the little girl wanted to show Santa and Mrs Clause her piano skills, which were quite accomplished and before we left she wanted to show us her fish tank.in the end she wouldn’t sit on Santa’s knee but wanted him to be aware of her. that was pretty cool i think. Next we went to a family who lived between Didsbury and Carstairs they were waiting for us to show up and wow the children when we walked in the middle girl was so excited she got up on Santa’s knee and did not want to leave even when Mrs Claus was reading her story when she did Santa did his photo rounds and even talked great grandma into sitting on Santa’s knee it had been quite sometime and i was assured it wouldn’t be so long till next time. the little boy was excited to see Santa and recieve his gift, and the older girl had a few questions that we hoped to answer to her satisfaction. By the end of the night when we left they all seemed happy as we all had some fun and gifts given . it was one fun night and we were loving every minute of it.
ill tell you more in the next few days
We were having a great time on Monday with 3 special visits. First we saw family, and had lots of photos taken. It was very magical and exciting for the little boys,… and mom and dad and grandparents seemed to enjoy it too. Then off to Royal Oak to see a superdog owner and her family. Even though the boys were shy at first, they warmed up to Mrs. Claus and Santa by the end of the visit. The last visit was a last minute drop in, to a family in Carstairs, that were unable to attend a fireman Christmas party. You should have seen the faces of not only the children, but the parents!!! Everyone had a fun time as Santa read letters from the children and had everyone in stitches. Lots of Santa Selfies were taken and Santa even had a picture taken with a plastic likeness. What a fun night!
Lovin’ every minute!by
Well of course I do make appearances at the golf course, and this weekend Santa went with two of his best elves accompanying him to the Heritage Pointe Golf and country club (just south of Calgary). It was a brunch with Santa. What a exquisite place to be on a Sunday; there was lots of food that was enjoyed as Santa and his elves walked around visiting the guests. And of course a few pictures got taken. We had access to a great room that held a Christmas tree that must have been 20 feet tall and all decorated right up to the star on top. Its twinkling lights made a nice prop as it was set next to Santa’s chair. The fireplace was lit creating a warm homey feeling and we also had a good number of pics taken in front of there as well.
What king of golf does Santa play? snow golf !!! HO HO HO Santa made a funny
See you soon,
lovin every minute of it (the adventure of being Santa)by
My oh my, what a wonderful day Santa and I had today in Calgary.
The first visit we had was to the Downtown Association at the Devonian Gardens. What a beautiful place! An indoor tropical paradise. Santa had a wonderful 3 hours having pictures taken with the children and parents and grandparents of the downtown area. I got to share my love of reading with the children and adults. We read “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” at least 4 different times, and other great books that are geared especially for Calgary and Canada. What wonderful stories!! I had Mrs Claus pictures taken with many children and adults. It was so much fun!
I want to thank the elves from the Downtown Association for all their hard work and assistance. We had a wonderful experience as we were leaving the gardens. We got to have our picture taken with a beautiful young lady who had Downs Syndrome. She was truly a sweet girl who asked for a picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus. What a way to end our visit!
The day ended with us visiting the Canadian Task Force#2 party. This is a group that help all around Alberta in extreme disasters, like floods, fires, snow storms, etc. The party was wonderful. We were treated to a ride into the party on a Ranger… a 4 wheel side by side that carries 6 people and cargo. The children LOVED Santa and Mrs. Claus and we had pictures taken with them, and handed out gifts. Then Santa made his rounds and got many Santa Selfies with the adults. So much fun! We then got a tour of the facility and learned so much about how this group of volunteers helps around our communities. It was overwhelming and we are so grateful to them. They don’t get the spotlight, but they deserve it. Thank you so much Can TF2 for all you do! We had a terrific time with your families.
Now it is time for Santa and Mrs. Claus to hit the hay… tomorrow is another busy day. We love sharing ourselves with all of you. We hope we bring some cheer to each of you and help to make wonderful memories for you. See you tomorrow!!!
We’re Lovin’ every minute of it!!!by
Today Mrs Claus and I were invited to appear at the annual Christmas function of Standard General to meet the hard working men and women that collectively make this diverse construction company work. We had such a good time eating a fantastic meal with all the fixins, (humm I wonder if the elves could learn to put on a feast like that) and getting our photos taken with this group of beautiful women and handsome men;from the management and there staff of department heads and secretaries, to equipment operators laborers, and mechanics; and I must say they clean up very well. Mrs Claus looked stunning in her new gown that she made at the North Pole however there were times she got too hot because she made it for the North Pole and didn’t take into account the warmer climate here when a chinook is in the Calgary area. She told me she would have to make that alteration and she would need to think about it. All in all we had a great time,we are loving every minute of itby
Today while downtown Santa was asked by a lady for a hug. I could see that she upset was about something; “Of course”, was the answer she got. As I wrapped my arms around her I could feel the stress leave, because her hug got stronger as she started to relax. We got a few pics and she got another hug before she left. I could feel that she was relieved that someone had taken the time for her. Today I learned if you need a hug, ask. The world isn’t nearly as big with another person next to you.
Thank you to the mystery lady who had the courage to ask for a hug from a stranger (even if he looks like Santa )to help her get through her day. If this is a lesson in life skills I hope I have learned it, and I am still loving every minute of it.
